Happy Father’s Day

Hello Church,

We have arrived at another Father’s Day.  We only celebrate it one day a year, but if you are a father or if you still have your father, really every day is Father’s Day!  With only one Sunday a year to celebrate this special day, let’s really make it count by being in church this Fathers Day.  Let’s show those Moms that we can get our children in church as well as them.  That would be some proud children, just being in church with their Dad! It would be special to all if we broke the record!

Our closing on the little house and piece of property is scheduled for next Wednesday, so keep praying for all to go well.

Brother Caleb will be here July 6 thru the month and then he will return for his last semester at Holmes. We plan for him to be with us at least once a month during his last semester.

My recovery is still going well. Continue praying for us as we are advancing the Kingdom of God.

  • Veteran’s Day
“Also, I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8 When I was younger, I never paid attention to Veteran’s Day. It was just another day, but as I have gotten older, especially in the last …
  • Are You Ready
Hello Church, Another week is almost gone and we are still looking for the Lord to come. His coming could be any day! Are you ready? God has blessed us even in all the sickness going on. We have a number of folks struggling with Covid, but to our knowledge, no one got it from church. Let’s continue …
  • Heaven On My Mind
I woke up this morning feeling absolutely wonderful, I had Heaven on my mind. Just thinking about it makes me want to go. Are you ready? If not, it is only thru His blood that we can be saved. Trust me, Heaven is not something you want to miss. So, join this happy band of …
  • We Are Blessed
We pray that you have had a great week and are anticipating a wonderful time on Sunday. I’m reminded of that chorus we sometimes sing: “I am blessed. I am blessed. Everyday that I live I am blessed. When I wake up in the morning till I lay my head to rest. I am blessed. …
  • Down, But Not Out
Hello Church Folks, Wonderful day, even if I am in a brace. As some of you know, I took a tumble down the steps of the porch last Friday night and I tore my quadricep on my right leg. By the time you read this, I will be out of surgery, recovery and home resting. …

See us Sunday with a Great Big Father’s Day Smile.

Planting Early

Hello Church,

Wonderful day of great things coming our way. We planted early and now we are enjoying the fresh vegetables-corn, tomatoes, beans, potatoes and a variety of other veggies. It’s also pea planting time! Because of “dark nights in June”, we are expecting peas for Labor Day.

Sounds a lot like our church. We plant and harvest and plant and harvest as God gives the increase. Let us never stop planting.

Last Sunday was a wonderful day, even with so many absent. There was great singing and how about that preacher? So many have told me to please get him back. We shall, one day.

What a wonderful year we have had so far and we live with GREAT EXPECTATIONS of what is to come! May God Bless you.

See us Sunday,

Pastor Bob

48 Years

Hallelujah! We got our final on the pavilion today. Our inspector said that we sure had a very nice place. Of course we do. God is the owner!

Sunday is our 48th anniversary and we are excited! We will officially name the pavilion and present the Burns’ Family with a surprise.

Reverend Chris Thompson, president of Holmes Theological Seminary, will be preaching for us and we are expecting a great day! We are sorry that we cannot have dinner this year, but hopefully soon we will be back in the swing of things.

We lost sister Addie Mixson Monday, but she is rejoicing in heaven with all her loved ones! Let us continue to remember her family in prayer.

May God Bless you as we look forward to seeing you this Sunday.
