Youth Group

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

Youth are the future of the church! Our youth group is for ages 12-19 and they meet every Sunday night at 6:30pm & on the third Monday of every month at 7pm. The teenagers enjoy this time getting together, having fun. Our leaders do a great job with the teens, and you do not have to worry where they are or what they are doing. They have fun, but they also have a lesson or quick devotion, and the kids know they can ask questions or talk about things they might not feel comfortable talking about with others.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Our youth now have a place of their very own to hang out at. Our “little house” across the street is currently being used for the youth! They meet at the house every Sunday night at 6:30pm. If your teen has never been, bring them by one Sunday to check it out!

For Valentines Day, our teen’s do a spaghetti dinner for our seniors. The kid’s help prepare, serve and clean up. Our senior’s really appreciate the time the kids take with them.

The teen’s also participate in various fundraisers to earn money for trips and activities throughout the year. They have done yard sales and car washes as well as sold calendars, license plates and BBQ dinners in which our preacher cooked the meat and youth leaders prepared the sides. The yard sales and BBQ dinners are always a big hit!

Trips & Activities

There are plenty of activities planned for the group. Whether it’s bowling, going to the Escape Room or whitewater rafting, they always have a good time. In October of 2021, the teen’s visited a “Judgement House” put on by Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church in Florence.  At the end, 3 of our teens gave their heart to Jesus! And in December of ’21 for their Christmas party, the teens went out to dinner & then to see the lights at James Island County Park. In May of this year, they went to see a River Dog’s baseball game. And then in June, they headed back up to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for whitewater rafting and Dollywood! Dolly herself even made a stop at Dollywood that day and road through the park in a carriage. They all, kids & leaders, had a great time this year.
